Acosta is no stranger to Trump's anger and she has often touched with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders at daily press briefings.

According to CNN correspondent, Trump's supporters, including a woman who whipped the crowd "in a frenzy", accosted her shouting and taunting.

Acosta said that many of those in the crowd were civilians, while many became galvanized and "whipped".

"When I go to these Trump rallies, when I listen to the president talking to those supporters out there at these gatherings, obviously, many of them are well meaning," Acosta said. "They are good patriotic Americans, but the frenzy that people feel at these events is amazing."

"It does not look like anything I've seen in my entire career covering politics," said Acosta. "And I think sometimes, it's scary and we've seen some of it tonight."

Meanwhile, Fox News personality Sean Hannity aired images of the rowdy Acosta during his program and described the moment as "priceless".

"Ouch, it hurts," Hannity said Monday night. "The best TV news they've ever made, actually."
