The cold temperatures are about to last a few more days in Alabama, but it will warm up by the weekend.
However, there are some cold days to go first.
Nightly minimums are expected to range from mid-20s in northern and central Alabama to a freeze point near the coast.
And it will not warm much Tuesday either. High temperatures can not reach 40 degrees in northern Alabama; Central Alabama will have an average altitude of up to 40 years, and peaks in the 1950s will extend to the coast.
Average peaks for this time of year range from the top 50 people in northern Alabama to the top 60 in southern Alabama.
Here is a preview of what to expect:
NORTH OF ALABAMA
According to the Huntsville National Weather Service, temperatures could reach mid-twenties at night in the coldest areas of northern Alabama.
The wind chills will be even worse.

On Tuesday, the weather should be colder, with peaks ranging from mid-30s to under 40s in the region.

ALABAMA CENTRAL
The growing season has ended in central Alabama. Frost and freeze warnings have therefore stopped for the winter, according to the Birmingham National Weather Service.
However, freezing temperatures are forecast for the night.

Tuesday, the highs will reach nearly 40 in the north of the region and 40 years in the south, according to the meteorological service:
SOUTH ALABAMA
According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, temperatures go very close to the freezing point until the next day, up to the coast.

According to the Tallahassee Meteorological Service in Florida, nocturnal lows in the southeast corner of the state will remain near the freezing point.
The high temperatures Tuesday in southern Alabama will not be so much better, warming only in the upper 40s in southeastern Alabama and in the upper 40s to the half of the 50 near the coast southwest of Alabama.
And even colder temperatures will be possible Wednesday morning.
Forecasters expect a new light freeze over southwest Alabama – usually along and north of Interstate 10 – Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.
And a freeze alert has been issued for southeastern Alabama since Tuesday night late Wednesday night – as temperatures could drop in the first twenty hours in some places, forecasters said.
The counties of Alabama in the eve of the freeze are Coffee, Dale, Henry, Geneva and Houston.
