COLES and Aldi both removed all the strawberries from their shelves after finding needles in bays as far away as Sydney and Townsville.
The dramatic movement is affecting stores in all states except Western Australia.
"Now that product withdrawal is complete, we will focus on working with our primary producers and the supply chain to minimize the impact and cost of these withdrawals," said a spokesperson. Aldi.
"We hope the authorities will guide us so that we can bring the strawberries back to the shelves in the very near future."
Coles said the move was intended to protect the safety of its customers.
"Coles has complied with Queensland Health's request to remove Donnybrook's strawberries from sale following reports of product contamination," its spokesman said.
"As a precaution, Coles also removes all brands and sizes of strawberry fillets grown in Queensland from Coles supermarkets in all states (except Western Australia), Coles Express and Coles online.
"Police are urging anyone who finds strawberry nets containing foreign objects to contact the police in his home country.
"The safety of our customers is our top priority and anyone who cares about their health needs to see a doctor.
Coles will work with producers and suppliers to provide support.
Queensland police are investigating the source of the needles, and Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk has been awarded $ 100,000 for anyone with information to capture the culprits.
"How can a righteous person want to endanger a baby or a child or the health of anyone by doing such an awful thing?" Said Ms. Palaszczuk yesterday.
"It puts the lives of families at risk and it also puts the strawberry industry at risk. We must catch the leaders. "
Police suspect that the needles were deliberately planned "to hurt someone".
Sewing needle contamination is thought to affect six distinct brands of strawberries: Berry Obsession, Berry Licious, Love Berry, Donnybrook Berry, Delightful Strawberers, and Oasis.
These brands are known to be sold in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and ACT.
Yesterday, Woolworths confirmed it had pulled the Oasis and Love Berry brands off its shelves, with Berry Obsession, Berry Licious and Donnybrook being earlier in the week.
It does not store the Delightful brand.
"We will remain in close contact and continue to be guided by the authorities to protect our customers," said a spokeswoman for Woolworths.
"We encourage clients to follow the advice of health authorities and chop all strawberries before eating them."
The strawberry industry is asking customers to continue buying berries, but to cut them before eating to make sure they are safe.
"It's food terrorism that puts an industry on its knees," said Ray Daniels, spokesperson for Strawberries Australia Inc. Queensland.
"But I would tell people that we produce 800,000 trays a day and seven needles were found. You are more likely to win the lottery than to be affected.
"I would call people to buy strawberries today, but please, cut them to check."
On Thursday, the Queensland Strawberry Growers Association revealed that she suspected a former employee unhappy about being at the source of the contamination.
There have been several reported cases of Australians having found needles inside their strawberries. A horrified mother said Sunrise she had discovered the metal tool when she was cutting the fruit for her child.
Angela Stevenson said she cut metal and then realized that she had given her son strawberries for her packed lunch.
She frantically called her son's school and asked them to shed the fruits.
Until now, only one person would have swallowed a needle, in the first known case last Sunday.
A 21-year-old Burpengary man in Queensland bit a strawberry with a needle inside and found himself in the hospital.
"When I bit into one, I felt like a snap, and my knee jerk reaction was swallowing, and what was left was half of a sewing needle." , he said to the Courier-Mail.
"I'm just in shock, you do not expect that."
Anyone who believes they have swallowed a needle should call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) or talk to their doctor.
Anyone with information that could help the police investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
