Colin Cowherd wants to know why the NFL teams even bothered to answer the phone when the New England Patriots call.
At Tuesday's edition of "The Herd" on FOX Sports 1, Cowherd highlighted the trend of troubled players after they left New England. The focus of the host is clear: Head Coach Bill Belichick is usually very effective when he judges a player's NFL clock, and other teams must start to be aware of it to avoid being manipulated by the Patriots.
The most recent class of free agents to leave New England certainly supports Cowherd's argument. Nate Solder, Malcolm Butler, Dion Lewis and Danny Amendola have all signed fairly lucrative deals with new teams this season. Not only do these players struggle to respect their contracts, but the Patriots did not miss a second in their absence.
Overall, when it comes to arguing with Belichick, it's probably best to be extremely careful.
