Fire Department staff responded to the Amazon Fullfillment Center at 10:25 pm on Friday and found a person who was not reacting under large amounts of debris, according to Baltimore Fire Department Chief Roman Clark.

Clark said that fire officials are looking for a second person in the wreckage, but it is unclear whether anyone was in the debris. He added that thermal imaging equipment was used to determine if anyone else was stuck inside.

At the time of the incident, southeastern Baltimore suffered severe weather, Clark said. But fire officials still have not determined the cause of the partial collapse.

Brandon McBride, an employee who worked in the building at the time, described to CNN WBAL's affiliate the chaos that broke out when the building collapsed.

"I was standing inside the building and I and one of the types of facilities were talking about.I went to the left of the building and he went right. All of a sudden we heard these loud noises, it was just crazy inside, "said McBride at the station. "It looked like bombs were falling everywhere, the whole side of the building was falling."

Heavy storms devastated much of Maryland on Friday night.

"There were things falling everywhere, you could see the walls collapsing," McBride said. "The rain was falling everywhere, all the parcels were soaked, it's unreal."
