Welcome midway – seven weeks behind seven weeks. Up to here, here's what we know about the 2018 college football season.
There are only eight undefeated teams remaining – as last year to date – and only four of them are in the Power Five Conferences (Alabama, Ohio, Clemson, State of North). This means that it is possible to have an undefeated Football Four. Alabama, Ohio, Clemson and Notre Dame are among the top four in the mid-term Power Powerings rankings.
We have not had more than one undefeated team eligible for Power Five post-2010 since Auburn, Oregon. The last time there were three undefeated and eligible Power Five teams for the playoffs, it was in 2004 (USC, Oklahoma, Auburn). Five of those eight unbeaten have a chance to play against another undefeated team in the regular season (Clemson, NC State, UCF, South Florida, Cincinnati).
Tua Tagovailoa is the best player in the country, Alabama is the best team, Michigan is suddenly in the top 10, LSU is better than expected and the safest Stoops is Mark in Kentucky. .
