We reached the STINKS OF ALL, NOBODY PLAYED a part of the season at the beginning of this year, but that must have happened one day. It is almost as if large groups of young people aged 18 to 22 tend to act irregularly from one week to the next.
1. Alabama (3-0)
Last match: Beat Ole Miss, 62-7

It is quite normal to see Alabama decimate its opponents. What is so different is that the Crimson Tide sends its enemies with as much panache. Alabama would probably have scored 100 on Ole Miss. Finally, Tua Tagovailoa will have to play in a second half. Maybe even next week.
2. Ohio State (3-0)
Last match: Beat TCU, 40-28
Next match: Saturday against Tulane
The TCU game has highlighted some weaknesses in the Buckeyes defense, and Nick Bosa's injury seems to be something that could last. Still, the Ohio State has also shown its ability to explode against a good defense. It's good that the Buckeyes proved they could win a game like this, because chances are they'll play a similar game on September 29 at State College.

So, the Tigers are ranked high up until someone beats them up. That said, it was fun to see Ed Orgeron dig a hole in the off-season story that he was on the hot seat. It has never been. It's just that when people write hot seat columns, they feel the need to include a coach from each conference. And if it continues, Orgeron's critics will have to admit that the guy knows what he's doing.
4. Georgia (3-0)
Last match: Beat Middle Tennessee, 49-7
Next match: Saturday in Missouri
The Bulldogs could very well face an undefeated teams game in the SEC Championship game against Alabama, but the Bulldogs still have to be challenged a bit more. They will have a challenge next week against Missouri and Drew Lock, who could be the first quarterback to leave the table in the upcoming NFL draft.
5. Clemson (3-0)
Last match: Beat Georgia Southern, 38-7
Next game: Saturday at Georgia Tech

9. Auburn (2-1)
Last match: Lost to LSU, 22-21

A second loss to LSU in two years is a concern, but here is the (good) good news. It's a better LSU team than the one that beat SEC West champion Auburn last year, so that loss does not mean Auburn can not make a difference. Also, Auburn has the second best win of the season (the Tigers win against Washington on September 1), so she's still on this list.
10. Washington (2-1)
Last match: Beat Utah, 21-7
Next match: Saturday against Arizona State
The Huskies have won one of their toughest Pac-12 games in Salt Lake City, with a lot of help from the Utes, who got into the foot so many times they no longer have toes. But it's still a big win. Next week, Washington will welcome Herm Edwards to the Pac-12.
