The third full week of college football has set fire to the powders. With the Top 25 engaged in showdowns, we watched tight finals throughout the day.
The top 10 teams from Wisconsin and Auburn failed in the second games of their games, succumbing to limited fouls that worried every team entering the year. Both must be perfect the rest of the season and may still need luck to reach the college football playoffs.
The Ohio State, Notre Dame and Washington, meanwhile, have won matches closer to you, with victories.
Important statements were made by LSU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The rise of LSU is particularly noteworthy given its starting point in the preseason, while Oklahoma and Oklahoma State continue to be offensive powers in the Big 12.
The Bleacher Report's expert panel – Matt Hayes, David Kenyon, Adam Kramer, Kerry Miller, Brad Shepard and Ian Wharton – voted on the action. A first place vote is worth 25 points, followed by 24 points for the second, 23 for the third, and so on.

There was not a more impressive collection of performances than the Big 12 had on Saturday when the conference was almost perfect. Oklahoma was able to defeat Iowa State, while Oklahoma State emerged as a legitimate contender for a Boise Broncos blast.
Texas Longhorns Tom Herman finally had his own game, blowing USC 37-14. Both Longhorns and Cowboys seemed much more talented and better trained in all phases of the game.
Even Kansas was able to have fun blowing up the 55-14 Rutgers. The Jayhawks have a legitimate offensive star for the first time in years with attacking midfielder Pooka Williams Jr. He was able to win 158 yards.

The Texas Tech and Houston showdown attracted as many fireworks as expected and the Red Raiders won 63-49. The win was huge for the Kliff Kingsbury Red Raiders. First-year quarterback Alan Bowman had 605 yards passing.
While TCU could not resist Ohio State's defensive effort, the Horned Frogs lost no respect in their 40-28 loss. Gary Patterson's team played as fast as they could and almost caused the huge upheaval. They pushed the Buckeyes to the brink, racking up 511 yards on their talented defense. But three reversals proved fatal.
Overall, the Big 12 has proven its legitimacy beyond the Sooners. And it helps to build the profile of whoever wins this conference at the end of the year.

Wisconsin and Auburn lost surprising surprises this week, but they were not the only ones to lose stocks. Our Lady has barely resisted Vanderbilt, making Kyle Shurmur one of the best smugglers in the country. And Stanford could barely get out of second gear against UC Davis without Bryce Love.

For Wisconsin, it was the first defeat of the regular season since October 2016. Their run under the leadership of Paul Chryst was extremely successful and he deserves a huge credit. But this loss can eliminate them from the situation of the CFP depending on the price of others.
The same goes for Auburn, who simply could not do it in times of crisis. The Tigers' attack was nearly defeated by LSU's quick attack, but Jarrett Stidham's lack of reliability and game dynamics showed that the game was progressing. Gus Malzahn should kick himself so he does not put more on his plate to prepare for it at the moment so he can overcome the gaps around him.
For Notre Dame and Stanford, these two will collide in two weeks. Stanford has to play a tough team in Oregon on the road first, and Notre Dame will be tested by Wake Forest. Everyone has an unreliable offense right now and is vulnerable.

Three games in the Kyler Murray era and the Oklahoma Sooners did not fall after Baker Mayfield graduated from the NFL after his incredible campaign of 2017. The Sooners took their revenge on Iowa State by tackling to Matt Campbell Cyclones on the road with a 37-27 win.
Lincoln Riley's plethora of playmakers and explosive options continue to overwhelm their enemies despite the loss of one of the most prolific smugglers in history. Murray was great in Riley's plan, combining his off-side athleticism with consistent precision as a passer.

Even with running back Rodney Anderson for the season, the Sooners took advantage of the dynamic pair of receivers Ceedee Lamb and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown. Lamb and Brown can do defense tricks with their blazing speed, and this opens up a unique blanket for an assortment of Sooners tight ends and backs.
The offensive ecosystem that Riley played with Murray is testament to the talent of the staff and individual players. It's not just the system that allows players to operate at such a high level, but it maximizes their skills and margin of error by extending defenses beyond their capabilities.
Murray threw 348 passing yards, 77 yards rushing and three touchdowns in the Cyclones. As the defense continues to struggle with slower opponents, this will not be important in most games as the offensive firepower is as good as any team in the country.

Florida Atlantic in Central Florida (7 pm ET ET Friday):
Friday night, we will face an offensive confrontation while Lane Kiffin's Owls will face the Golden Knights Josh Heupel. The Owls may not have enough depth to upset UCF, but quarterback Chris Robison and halfback Devin Singletary are able to make it a match to watch. In addition, Mackenzie Milton could be the best quarter of the nation, so at least this game will be entertaining.
Texas A & M in Alabama (15:30 ET):
The Aggies had one of the best moral wins by pushing Clemson to the brink of defeat two weeks ago. The Alabama is better on the field than the Tigers, but Jimbo Fisher has a quarterback that matches the mold needed to beat Nick Saban. Kellen Mond is an adept runner and has improved his passing to the point that he is a legitimate double threat to the Aggies. This setback would be huge, but there is at least a small chance.
Our Lady at Wake Forest (noon ET):
Just as the defense of Notre Dame played this season, smothering every attack they have played, the Fighting Irish attack has yet to unveil a legitimate identity. The passing game is limited with Brandon Wimbush's inconsistency, and Wake Forest can step in to put pressure on him this week. The Demon Deacons will be defeated Thursday night against a good team from Boston College, but will force a tight match this week.
State of Mississippi Kentucky (7 pm ET)
Now, at 3-0, it's time to pay attention to Kentucky and the level of noise it can produce at the SEC. Led by Benny Snell Jr., the Heisman Trophy's running back, the Wildcats are uncompromising on both sides of the ball and can stay clear of their opponents to shorten the game. The Wildcats will have to be sharp again this week when the Mississippi State Bulldogs arrive at Kroger Field. The Bulldogs have good athletes all over the field and will stack the box to stop Snell. We will see anger if they can not contain it.
Stanford to Oregon (8 pm ET)
Week 4 was a slog for the Stanford attack without Bryce Love. Traveling to Eugene, Oregon, will not be easy as the Ducks have been able to detonate every enemy so far. It will also be the first quality team that Oregon will face, so it will have a period of adjustment for both teams. If love returns, the cardinal will have better chances. But if his undisclosed injury holds him back, then K.J. Costello and the rest of the offense may have too much to overcome.
Arizona State Washington (10:30 ET)
Unfortunately for this game, Herm Edwards' Sun Devils pulled out of the Top 25 as they lost to San Diego State. But it will be one to look to see if the Huskies take them for granted. The state of Arizona does not have the absolute talent to invade Washington, but it is hard and can make life frustrating for the deepest Huskies.
