College Sports: 5 things Texas A & M fans need to know about Clemson, including the country's best defense line

Texas A & M hosts the No. 2 Clemson Tigers in town this weekend. The game attracts exceptional hype and will host ESPN College GameDay before the shot to send at a prime time at 6 pm Slot TV

Here are five things to know about Tigers:

Clemson head coach, Dabo Swinney, told local reporters Tuesday that he was not very familiar with the Texas A & M team. However, he should be familiar with his head coach.

Saturday's game between the Aggies and the Tigers will mark the ninth match between the two head coaches, Swinney and Jimbo Fisher, who have already clashed at the CAC.

Fisher said Monday that getting acquainted with Clemson was good, and bad, knowing the high-level challenge the Tigers bring to the table. He added how well the match went on during his tenure in Tallahassee because it had consequences on the ACC title and the college football playoffs in recent seasons.

Despite a 4-4 record between Fisher and Swinney, the Swinney Tigers have had Fisher's number in the last three years. Maybe Swinney's misunderstanding with the new Fisher team will help the Aggies.

When the pre-season All-ACC team was released in July, something big happened: the first-team defensive line plays for Clemson.

The four tigers Austin Bryant, Christian Wilkins, Dexter Lawrence and Clelin Ferrell, called the "Power Rangers", are the best defensive line in the country.

Last season, the group of four players recorded 25.0 sacks and 45.0 tackles for the loss. All four have earned the honors of America.

This will undoubtedly be the biggest challenge for Aggies this week. Lawyer Keaton Sutherland said he was delighted to play the best of the best. The offensive midfielder Trayveon Williams said that the goal of A & M is simple: protect quarterback Kellen Mond.

Several reports have indicated that Clemson will face Kelly Kelly and Trevor Lawrence on Saturday.

Bryant is the main incumbent who started last season and led the Tigers to the semi-final of the university football playoffs. Lawrence is a real freshman and a five-star hope. Bryant kept his starting point this season, but split his time with Lawrence in Clemson's first game of the season against Furman.

The two were contrasted in different ways, with Bryant considered a dual threat talent and Lawrence ranked as a smuggler. Still, Fisher said Monday that he was not deceived by Bryant's arm and Lawrence's legs.

Interestingly, however, Mr. Swinney did not indicate how a potential rotation between Bryant and Lawrence would occur. In any case, the Aggies are preparing for two quarters.

While the Aggies will contain the monstrous D-line Clemson, the seven players of A & M will limit the production of the best striker of the Tigers, Travis Etienne.

A unique A & M commitment, Etienne (5-10, 200) is small and devious but can also pack a punch.

In first year, Etienne won 766 yards and 13 touchdowns. He averaged 7.16 yards per run, the fourth highest average of all time at school.

Etienne's production was not overwhelming last week against Furman – 11 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown – but 9th place will be released on Saturday.

Clemson is no stranger to the big stage.

In the past three seasons, no team has more wins over "power five" opponents than the Tigers (34). Alabama is barely behind with 33 wins in the same period. During this period, Clemson won three consecutive ACC titles.

Saturday, the Tigers will perform another major task playing Kyle Field 102,733 seats.

The biggest crowd in which all Clemson teams played was 92,476, a loss in 2014 in Georgia. A & M announced on Tuesday afternoon that there were no more non-student tickets for Saturday's match, which should end at sold-out.
