(SHREVEPORT) – Comcast's customers around the country and even here in ArkLaTex have probably spent some time talking to customer service today.
A national outage is now striking some of its TV, broadband and telephone customers. Comcast representative Alex Horwitz told KTBS that two fiber cuts at one of its network partners were the cause.
A viewer contacted us today to tell us that his home in a support center had been without Comcast service for days. 1965-19002] Marilyn Hainey says the house lost service for the first time three days ago.
Hainey said the first day that Comcast told her that about 6,000 customers were without TV service, but that she would be repaired that night. The problem continued when she tried to call back today.
She could not talk to a representative for hours because of Comcast's phone problems.
Hainey says that the test left her and her husband frustrated. Because it's what seniors do, they watch TV. And we are both athletes. We like to watch the game. We have not seen Arkansas lose last night. We wanted them to win, but we could not even watch the game, "said Hainey
We contacted Comcast about the national blackout and Hainey.
According to Alex Horwitz of Comcast, it turns out that Hainey
Horwitz took Hainey's information to contact us
Hainey let us know that Horwitz had called him shortly thereafter and sent a technician to her home
. to report his service is back.
For customers affected by the national outage, Horwitz says the service should be reinstated tonight.
