The MMA coach said $ 5 million was allocated to Conor McGregor to fight a Chinese kick-boxer.
John Kavanagh told the True Geordie Podcast that he received the offer as he discussed Floyd Mayweather's continuing fight with Japanese kick-boxing prodigy Tenshin Nasukawa.
"I'm going to give you a funny one," said the Irishman. "I got a message from guys just a few days ago. A Chinese kickboxer wanted to do three rounds with Conor for $ 5 million. "
Mayweather canceled a three-round bout against Nasukawa scheduled for New Year's Eve in Saitama, near Tokyo, after telling promoters that the Rizin Combat Federation had modified the original deal.
The undefeated American boxer, 41, claimed that it was only a private exhibition before a group of wealthy investors, and withdrew three days after having appeared at a press conference in Tokyo.
Mayweather has since said that the fight was "obvious" with Rizin claiming the talks were back, but Kavanagh said the UFC star McGregor – who faced Mayweather during a fight of mega-money boxing last year – will never accept such a fight.

Social media users have speculated that the mysterious Chinese kickboxer could be the martial artist Yi Long.
The Shaolin monk, 1.75 meters tall, is an expert of sanshou and wushu, with a kickboxing record of 61-12-1. Earlier this month, he beat 2.1-meter South Korean boxer Choi Hong-man with a back foot in Macau for the new MAS Fight launch event, a knockout promotion.
Yi also fought the legend of Muay Thai Buakaw Banchamek twice, with a win for every fighter.
However, even if McGregor had an interest in fighting Yi, UFC President Dana White will probably not allow him to do so.
