Michael Chiesa, an MMA fighter, has filed a lawsuit against Conor McGregor as a result of McGregor's attack on a bus at Barclays Center in New York, according to the online court records.

Chiesa filed a lawsuit in Kings County on Monday, just over five months after McGregor's attack caused him cuts in his face and forced the 30-year-old to withdraw from his fight against Anthony Pettis at UFC 223. (The two men continued to fight in July, with Pettis winning by submission in the second round.)

Chiesa's lawsuit, which targets unspecified damages, alleges that McGregor's attack resulted in physical injuries, economic losses, and emotional distress. He also cites the Barclay center as a defendant, claiming that the arena failed to "take the appropriate security measures to protect the plaintiff".

The Chiesa lawsuit is believed to be the first related to the April attack, during which McGregor and members of his team threw objects on a bus. McGregor accepted an advocacy agreement for his role in the July attack and was mandated to perform five days of community service and undergo up to three days of anger management at the prison site.

McGregor has yet to return to the octagon after making his first foray into boxing with a fight against Floyd Mayweather more than a year ago. He is expected to face UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas in October.
