Return Dalvin Cook The list of questionable players on Sunday against the Lions is debatable, but sources told Star Tribune Friday that the Vikings plan is to send him back to the field with a limited role.
Cook, who has missed five games due to a persistent hamstring injury, has been training all week and is expected to play 15 to 20 catches against Detroit, with less than a warm-up defeat before the game. .
The Vikings had the same plan before the Oct. 14 game against Arizona, but Cook did not play after a warm-up period.
The contribution of Viking Week 10 is a decisive factor, by head coach Mike Zimmer.
"It's all part of the decision," Zimmer said. "But if guys can play, they play. That's how we do it here. So we will not worry about it after six weeks or something. "
Cook, who has rushed for 107 yards and 98 yards on the ground in three games, could help the Vikings' already prolific pass attack.
"I do not know how much it's a game of passing or running," Zimmer said. "Overall, I think he's going to help us."
Chasing a mega record
Recipient Adam Thielen takes away the former Lions catcher from a 100-yard match Calvin Johnson all-time record in the NFL with eight consecutive 100-yard total games set in 2012.
Thielen is just chasing the record against Johnson's old team in Detroit.
Thielen said he grew up being a big fan of Johnson, known as "Megatron", and even copied Johnson's Georgia Tech jersey while playing in Detroit Lakes.
"I was wearing number 21 in high school because he was 21 in college," Thielen said. "He could block, he could follow short routes, he could follow deep routes and catch everything.
"When people were draped over him, he was still playing games."
Questionable Diggs
Recipient Stefon Diggs was unable to train all week due to a rib injury suffered against the Saints. The Vikings hoped that Diggs could play by citing it as questionable on Friday.
Recipient Aldrick Robinson, who has five catches for 95 yards and three touchdowns, did not seem optimistic that his teammate played. If Diggs is officially dismissed, Robinson should play a bigger role.
"With Stefon out, a lot of guys are going to play more," Robinson said. "Me, Tread and Zylstra – we will all play more."
He was referring to Laquon Treadwell and Brandon Zylstra.
Other questionable
Left tackle Riley Reiff (foot), corner half Xavier Rhodes (foot) and security Andrew Sendejo (groin) are listed as doubtful to play against Lions. Sendejo practiced in full on Friday, while Rhodes and Reiff were restricted throughout the week.
Another change is likely if Reiff returns. Rookie tackle Brian O'Neill remained on the right tack at the start of the practice on Friday with Reiff on the left tack, which means the Vikings may be downgraded Rashod Hill to backup work if Reiff can come back from his three-game absence.
Three Vikings were excluded: the linebacker Anthony Barr (hamstrings), guard Tom Compton (knee) and running Roc Thomas (tendon).
"More difficult" to plan
Last week, the Vikings were ill-prepared to plan the game after the receiver traded Lions Golden Tate to the Eagles on Tuesday.
The problem was that Tate was the Lions' third option down, so Zimmer and his coaches were left in search of Matthew Stafford the throws will go to the third tries.
"It makes things more difficult," Zimmer said. "We must now determine what they will do differently.
"Who will be there? Will they use[return[runningback[revenir[runningbackTheo] Riddick? Which is probably a very good option. "
