Cornell app looks users in the eyes to measure alertness

When we are alert, our sympathetic nervous system causes the dilation of our pupils, which allows us to more easily capture information. On the other hand, when we are tired, our parasympathetic nervous system causes the contraction of our students. With this in mind, a team from Cornell University developed the AlertnessScanner app, which uses the front camera of a smartphone to assess the student size of these users.
