Cosby Show actor Geoffrey Owens was offered a job by Tyler Perry after being viral for working at Trader Joe's.

The actor, who played alongside Bill Cosby in the hit television series Elvin Tibideaux, recently expressed his gratitude after receiving the shame of some Twitter users for working in the US grocery store.

The 57-year-old no longer works in the New Jersey store where he was photographed due to undesirable attention.

Today, filmmaker and actor Tyler Perry has offered him a position on the Oprah Winfrey network, which he has chosen to accept, according to TMZ.

Sources told the publication that Geoffrey was to appear in Tyler's hit series The Haves And The Have Nots for 10 episodes.

The show, which is in its sixth season, will apparently begin filming scenes with Geoffrey next week.

Previously, regarding the offer, Geoffrey admitted that he had not seen any Tyler TV shows.

"It will sound funny. I'm not a TV watcher, "Owens told Entertainment Tonight. "Never been. I remember the day my first Cosby Show was aired in 85! I do not even have … I barely owned a television. "

He added, "I have never been a TV watcher."

Owens said he enjoyed working at Trader Joe's, but decided to leave his job after his story hit the Internet.

"It's surreal," he told Good Morning America on Tuesday. It's really weird – a lot of fun though. "

In the same interview, he also delivered a passionate speech on the dignity of work and that "every job is valuable and useful".

"There is no better job than others," he said. "It can pay better, it can have better benefits, it may look better on paper. But it's not better. Every job is worth it. "

The 57-year-old actor said he had not worked as a comedian for more than 10 weeks since leaving The Cosby Show in 1992.

In 2017, he plays an assistant dean of the FOX Lucifer drama series, in an episode called Deceptive Little Parasite.

He is the son of former US major United Owens.
