Fans of The dead who walk were stunned when Andrew Lincoln announced his departure as Rick Grimes earlier this year, but now the actor revealed that he was planning to return.
Unfortunately, that's not what you could want. (However, this does not concern Old Man Rick.)
Before the premiere of the season nine – Andrew's final On screen season – the actor said Weekly entertainment that he "returns" to Walking Dead set as early as "next year".

"I come back to the shadow of a director, and my intention is to lead next year," he jokingly said of not being able to "endure" the show too long.

"It's how much I'm invested in the series and the aftermath of history," added Andrew.
The dead who walkThe leader told fans that he was leaving the series at Comic-Con this year, insisting that no character "is bigger than the story".
"I have two young children and I live in a different country and they become less portable as they get older," he explained later. "It was so simple, it was time for me to go home."
Rick will leave Walking Dead universe on a high note (ish), however, with former showrunner Scott Gimple promising a "remarkable" story involving Rick and Michonne.
"[Their connection] is deeper now, they have experienced a remarkably intense thing together. She was there for him in so many different ways, and the things she finally came to do were so important … And those 18 months, when they did not have a picnic, the war is over .
The dead who walk broadcast on AMC in the US, and on FOX and NOW TV UK. Season 9 will air on October 7 in the United States and October 8 in the United Kingdom.
