A couple makes their home and their bank account looks like a million dollars while cleaning up before having family for Thanksgiving.

Tina and Harold Ehrenberg were preparing their home in Mandeville, Louisiana, for the Thanksgiving festivities, when they found old lottery tickets on the nightstand, including a winner of a prize. $ 1.8 million.

The couple found the winning ticket for the Louisiana Lottery just in time, as it was due to expire in two weeks. The lucky note was drawn from the June 6th draw and prizes were to be claimed within 180 days of the draw.

"The most fun will be to deposit this check," said Harold Ehrenberg, an affiliate of NBC, WDSU.

It's unclear whether the couple has been playing the same numbers for 25 years – like this man – or accidentally bought the wrong ticket and won anyway – hey, it happened – but all of this contributed to a good fortune.

The Ehrenberg went online to check the numbers on the lottery website and found that it was going to be a very happy Thanksgiving.

They will receive $ 1,274,313 after taxes, which they plan to set aside for their retirement.

"We do not intend to buy anything crazy or make great trips," said Tina Ehrenberg.
