Creed 2: Every rocky character that comes back

the Rocky franchise continues to find a new life with Creed II, and the sequel brings back many familiar faces from the past Rocky movies. Ryan Coogler relaunched the franchise through the prospect of Apollo Creed's son, Adonis (Michael B. Jordan), in 2015. The original Creed The film, however, received few recognizable characters, with a focus on the boxer in the making and his relationship with Bianca (Tessa Thompson).

Creed II finds Adonis in the ring and is screened in the boxing community after his loss to "Pretty" Ricky Conlan. But for the purposes of Creed IIof history, director Steven Caple Jr. and writer Cheo Hodari Coker (Luke Cage) decided to link the Creed series strongly in Rocky IV.

The Drago family returns to the boxing world and sees Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu) challenging Adonis in action. The meeting of the Creed and Drago lines comes 30 years after the death of Apollo in the ring at the hands of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). These are just some of the characters coming back Creed II at.

Rocky Balboa

The biggest star back in Creed II is, of course, Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balbora. After years of boxing, Rocky Balboa has now joined the coaching community to help train and mentor Adonis Creed. They proved to be a successful couple in the years between Creed and Creed II, while Rocky's health is largely restored after battling cancer Creed. That's the eighth appearance of Stallone in Rocky.

Ivan Drago

With Adonis Creed and Viktor Drago, this would not be possible without the return of Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago. Lundgren only appeared in Rocky IV in 1985, but his physical presence made Russia an intimidating opponent for Rocky Balboa. Ivan Drago is responsible for the assassination of Apollo Creed more than 30 years ago. He however suffered his first defeat against the Italian stallion. The loss ruined his reputation in Russia and saw the entire country turn his back on him, leaving him "pretty bad" according to Lundgren. With just one son and years of accumulated rage to promote the return of the name Drago, Ivan Drago is trying to make a triumphant return.

Ludmilla Drago

The return of Bridgette Nielsen as Ludmilla Drago is one of the characters that could surprise. Nielsen also appeared in Rocky IV as wife to Ivan Drago. She is an Olympic gold medalist, just like her husband, although she specializes in swimming. Ludmilla leaves Ivan and Viktor Drago after Ivan's defeat at Rocky Balboa due to humiliation. According to rumors, Nielsen would come back for Creed II, and although this has never been confirmed before Creed IIthe liberation she is part of the distribution.

Robert Balboa Jr.

Another surprise comeback in the last moments of Creed IIwhen Milo Ventimiglia resumes his role as Rocky Balboa's son, Robert Balboa Jr. Ventimiglia entered the Rocky franchise in its last installment, like Robert's adult version, in Rocky Balboabut other child actors played Robert in Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, and Rocky V. Although Ventimiglia was able to put an end to the role and father-son relationship, Creed established that they have not talked much or seen each other recently. But the emotional meeting eventually occurs in Creed II.

Apollo Creed

Since Creed II This is mainly about Adonis facing the family responsible for the death of his father, the presence of Apollo Creed is felt throughout the sequel. The familiar face of Tony Burton as Duke also returns in Creed II. Duke was the long-time coach of Apollo and eventually made the transition to help coach Rocky Balboa. Burton made an appearance in the six of the original Rocky movies in a row. It is only included in Creed II through a photo of him and Apollo hanging in the office of Tony & # 39; Little Duke & # 39; Burton. Little Duke is the owner of Delphi Gym and helps train Adonis Creed for his fight against Viktor Drago, allowing three offspring to be included in the pseudo-return match.

The tomb of Adrian

Adrian, Rocky Balboa's love of life, also has a small role to play in Creed II, while Rocky is visiting his grave. Talia Shire has reappeared as Adrian for the first five Rocky movies but was also included in a flashback in Rocky Balboa. Shire is not shown in the film beyond a photo hanging on Rocky's fridge. However, it is Rocky's routine visit to his grave that constitutes the biggest reminder of their lasting relationship.

Paulie's Grave

Of course, it is impossible for Rocky to visit Adrian's grave without also recalling his brother and best friend, Paulie. Burt Young played Paulie in the six Rocky movies but it has been shown in Creed that a tombstone for Paulie was placed right next to that of Adrian. Rocky does not really talk to Paulie during this visit, but the bottle of whiskey is still there.
