Sidney Crosby scored a climax at 2:12 of overtime on Tuesday to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 6 to 5 win over the Edmonton Oilers in a return match.
Crosby played all over the Oilers area before placing the puck on goalkeeper Cam Talbot's left cushion for his second goal of the game. Patric Hornqvist and Jamie Oleksiak also scored twice for Pittsburgh.
Leon Draisaitl and Alex Chiasson each scored two goals and Connor McDavid added a goal for Edmonton.
Matt Murray made 41 saves for the Penguins and Talbot, 25.
Sharks 5, predators 4
Brent Burns scored the game-winning goal with 2:52 left to complete the three-goal recovery in the third period against San Jose, who won in Nashville.
Burns beat Juuse Saros with a shot hit from the left-throw circle for his second goal of the season thanks to an assist from Erik Karlsson and Evander Kane. Timo Meier, Tomas Hertl, Brenden Dillon and Joe Pavelski scored the other goals for San Jose, who won their third consecutive game.
Viktor Arvidsson scored twice, while Filip Forsberg and Craig Smith added goals for the Predators, who had a five-game winning streak.
Bruins 4, Senators 1
David Pastrnak scored two goals and two assists, while Patrice Bergeron added one goal and two assists to help Boston beat Ottawa.
David Krejci scored a goal and an assist for the Bruins, who have won six straight games against the Senators, including four last season. Pastrnak tied Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs to the top of the NHL with 10 goals.
Thomas Chabot scored for the Senators. Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask made 38 saves while Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson blocked 28 shots.
Canadians 3, Flames 2
Jeff Petry and Jonathan Drouin each scored a goal and a pass in Montreal's second three-goal period as the host beat Calgary at a historic night for goalkeeper Carey Price.
At the age of 31, Price stopped 21 shots to win his 289th career victory, placing him in second place in Montreal history with Patrick Roy. Jacques Plante leads the club with 314.
Petry and Brendan Gallagher scored goals on the power play and Drouin scored tied as the Canadiens scored all three goals in the space of 3:21. Michael Frolik and Elias Lindholm scored for Calgary.
Blackhawks 3, Ducks 1
Brandon Saad scored twice for his 14th career performance with several goals, and Chicago retained his victory over his visit to Anaheim.
Patrick Kane also scored for the Blackhawks, who have scored at least one point for the seventh time in nine games this season. Corey Crawford of Chicago made 24 saves. He stopped 61 of 63 shots in his last two starts.
Rickard Rakell scored the only goal of Anaheim, who lost three times in a row. Ducks goaltender John Gibson dismissed 35 shots.
Coyotes 4, Blue Jackets 1
Christian Fischer had his first career hat trick, Derek Stepan had three assists and Darcy Kuemper made 35 saves in his second start of the season as a late replacement, leading Arizona to a Columbus victory.
Dylan Strome scored his second goal of the season on the power play for the Coyotes. Fischer scored in each period, putting the game away with a wrist shot between circles after Stepan's pass at 4:44 of a third.
Pierre-Luc Dubois scored the only goal of the Blue Jackets, which was scored early in the quarter-final.
Rangers 5, Panthers 2
Mika Zibanejad scored two goals and tied a career high with four points, while Mats Zuccarello scored his first two goals of the season as New York overcame a slow start to defeat in Florida.
Zibanejad scored three of his points in the second period – all in special teams when the Rangers turned a deficit of one goal into a two-goal lead.
Zibanejad became the first Ranger to score a power-play goal and power-play goal in the same period since Brandon Dubinsky on April 12, 2009 in Philadelphia.
Stars 4, Kings 2
John Klingberg scored the decisive goal and secured a deciding pass in insurance while Dallas went to Los Angeles to try to score a series of three defeats.
Jason Spezza also had a goal and help for the Stars and Devin Shore added two assists to the win. Ben Bishop stopped 31 shots to score his three-game losing streak.
Anze Kopitar and Tyler Toffoli scored for Los Angeles, with 19 saves saved by Jonathan Quick.
