Crossover Crossover's first trailer reveals Elseworlds, Barry & Iris

The first trailer was released for the Arrowverse crossover Elseworlds, and it offers a very unexpected match. The crossover has become a highly anticipated annual television event, including the four television shows in various combinations (this year). Legends of tomorrow will be sitting outside). This year's crossover has the added pressure of introducing Batwoman and Gotham City from Ruby Rose to Arrowverse for the first time.

In comics, Elseworlds' footprint lies outside the continuity of DC. Everything that happens in these stories has no impact on the character's current intrigues. Which means (even more than usual) that anything can happen. Until now, it is not clear how much the crossover will affect the Arrowverse, but it will serve as a basis for a Batwoman TV show. Until now, the shooting photos and images shared by the cast have already revealed many surprises, ranging from the Superman black suit to John Wesley Shipp in his iconic 1990s Flash costume.

The first trailer of Elseworlds shows the familiar West-Allen apartment – with a twist. Rather than Grant Gustin as Scarlet Speedster, it's Stephen Amell, aka Green Arrow. However, Iris does not seem to know that this man is not his Barry Allen. She kisses him and then calls Barry, revealing to him that everything is absolutely not what it seems in this universe. You can watch the trailer below, courtesy of The CW.

Based on the crossover poster, fans knew that Amell would take on the Flash suit and that Gustin would take the green hat, but now it seems that more than the costumes have changed. Iris believes it's his Barry, despite the fact that Oliver apparently knows the opposite. One can only imagine the opposite happening at Star City, when a confused Barry wakes up next to Felicity. This will inevitably create hilarious moments between the two characters – like making up for all the times when Barry forgets Oliver is not as fast as him.

In addition to dealing with their own version of Horrible Friday, The heroes of the Arrowverse will also face Dr. John Deegan, a dangerous enemy. Played by Jeremy Davies, he is a physician from Arkham Asylum who is described as just as deranged as his patients. His presence, along with that of Cassandra Jean Amell as Mr. Freeze's wife, shows just how important this crossover is to the introduction of Gotham and Batwoman. It's a good way to get fans excited about a new show, after the very first cross between Arrow and The flash served as a backdoor pilot for the latter, and it seems to have worked quite well.
