OWENSBORO, Ky. – A Kentucky father was found dipped in water on social media with what most people would seem to be the wrong choice of Halloween costumes.

Bryant Goldbach he's dressed as a Nazi welder and his school-aged son in Adolf Hitler before heading to a Trunk-or-Treat event on Thursday night. The news was reported for the first time by WEHT Eyewitness News.

He then posted a picture of himself on Facebook and the reaction was immediate.

Goldbach apologized saying that it was a bad decision on his part and that his intention was simply to represent historical characters.

In a statement, Rabbi Gary Mazo of Adath B'nai Israel Temple described Goldbach's excuses as "important", but notes that such costumes are by nature "a sad reflection of our society".

"If your costume reminds you of an event where millions of people were killed, choose another suit," he wrote.

Goldbach complained about the treatment that he and his family had received at the event by saying:

"We've seen people disguised as murderers, devils, serial killers, blood and blood of all kinds, nobody has been frowning, but my little boy and I are dressing up like historical figures, and that deserves people make sarcastic remarks, and threatening my 5-year-old boy … Yes, liberalism is alive and well and we had the displeasure of having to handle the fruits of the so-called "tolerant left". ; "
