AUBURNDALE, Queens –
The father wanted for questioning following the death of his 13-month-old twin daughter in Queens would have committed suicide in a Manhattan hotel.
The police identified the man as Mohammad Torabi, 31, the husband separated from the queen's mother, accused of brutally beating the girl and her 13-month-old son in a critical state.
Police were called to the Renaissance Hotel located at 57th Street on Saturday afternoon and found Torabi's body on a third floor landing.
There was no suicide note, sources say.
His wife, 30-year-old Tina Torabi, is behind bars charged with the crime of assault.
Authorities are still waiting for autopsy findings on twin sister, Elaina, 1 year old, found unconscious with bruises and body injuries in the family suburban apartment in Auburndale on Wednesday night.
Officials seek to know if Mohammad was involved in the death of his child.
In 2017, the five children were removed from the mother and placed with their grandmother after the birth of the twins with opioids in their system. A judge returned them to their mother in March, with no evidence of drug use found. Child protection workers have made at least one home visit since then.
Tina had received a protection order against her ex-husband after strangling her in 2015. Her relatives seem to own the queen's house, but he does not live there. He has an open arrest warrant for violation of child support in Nashville, Tennessee.
