Dak Prescott at the security of giants Landon Collins – "Challenge accepted"

FRISCO, Texas – On Wednesday, Landon Collins developed the New York Giants' defensive strategy for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

"We make sure to close the offensive game," Collins said. "If we do that, put the ball in Dak's hands, I think we'll have a better chance of winning."

When he was informed of Collins' statement on Thursday, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had a simple answer.

"The challenge has been accepted," said Prescott. "Challenge accepted."

Prescott felt mourning this week after Cowboys' 16-8 season defeat Carolina Panthers, in which he has thrown 170 yards in 19 out of 29 passes. In seven of his last nine games, which go back to last season, Prescott did not make 200 yards and did not complete touchdown pass in six of his last nine games.

Cowboys catcher Allen Hurns said Collins' statement was more about the passing game.

"In terms of saying it out loud, it does not change anything for us," said Hurns. "Of course, he sort of called our quarterback, but we know, week after week, we have to play games in the passing game."

Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said Prescott seemed even more determined than he was in the past after what happened against Carolina. Prescott admitted to missing a lot of coins that could have changed the outcome of the match.

"I have not played well, and the only way I know how to play better is to go to work and put time, put the time in the right direction, and that's what that I have planned, "said Prescott, who said that his injured ankle is not a problem after undergoing two full tests this week.

The last time Prescott played against the Giants, he completed 20 of 30 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-10 win. Since that December match, Prescott has only launched one touchdown pass.

"He's certainly focusing on improving the situation, he's doing as a professional, a competitor," Linehan said. "He does not struggle, you can say that he is determined, he wants to get back on this ground as soon as possible, just what you expect."
