Dallas Cowboys: Sources: The Cowboys will announce an unknown addition to Ring of Honor at a press conference

FRISCO – The Cowboys have called a press conference on Friday to announce the latest addition to the club's prestigious Ring of Honor, sources said.

What no one wants to divulge, is who – or how much – will be inducted. The owner, Jerry Jones, made it clear that he wanted it to be a surprise until the names were announced.

The candidates:

A mixed set consisting of quarterback Tony Romo and forward Jason Witten is a great possibility. Witten will return to AT & T for the first time since retiring to play Monday night's game between the Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans. Romo, who is currently a senior analyst for CBS, has not scheduled to play a match this weekend.

Linking the two is perfectly logical.

Gil Brandt, Senior Vice President of Player Personnel for the franchise, is currently studying for the 2019 promotion of the Professional Football Hall of Fame contributors. The announcement that he will be in the club's honor ring could help him get into the room.

The list of potential additions extends beyond these three. Other names to keep in mind are former coach Jimmy Johnson, defensive ends DeMarcus Ware and Harvey Martin and cornerback Everson Walls.

There are currently 21 members in the team 's ring of honor. Security Darren Woodson, inducted at halftime of the team's match against Seattle on November 1, 2015, was the last person to be added.

The club issued a statement shortly after 5 pm Thursday, saying Jones would hold a press conference Friday at noon. This conference would concern "a football business." .

The only question now is whether there will be more than one person celebrated.
