Here is the summary of the APs:
SEATTLE (AP) – Russell Wilson had two touchdowns in the first half, Chris Carson added a 5-yard run early in the fourth quarter, and the Seattle Seahawks avoided a 0-3 start with a 24-13 win. . the Dallas Cowboys Sunday.
Wilson hit Jaron Brown on an 18-yard touchdown early in the second quarter, then hit Tyler Lockett on a 52-yard sideline while Seattle (1-2) led 17-3 at halftime and passed Cowboys.
The duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott did not get the answers against a Seattle defense that secured Earl Thomas on the field and welcomed Bobby Wagner after the Seahawks defensive leader missed Week 2 with a groin injury. Prescott was intercepted twice by Thomas, including with 3:09 at Seattle 15 on a deflected pass, with Thomas tilting past the Dallas sideline at the end of the match.
Prescott was sacked five times and Dallas (1-2) only 58 yards in the fourth quarter. Elliott had momentary flashes, arriving a few long runs, but they were too rare for Dallas' stagnant attack.
Thomas's second interception is one of two reversals imposed by Seattle in the fourth quarter. Elliott was released for a 26-yard run at Seattle 19 early in the quarter, but the ball was hit from behind by Bradley McDougald and recovered by the Seahawks.
Prescott finished 19th on 34 for 168 yards and a 3-yard TD Tavon Austin pass with 7:11 remaining. Dallas failed to pass 200 yards for the ninth time in the last 11 games of last season. Elliott had 127 yards in 16 carries.
Meanwhile, Wilson had the kind of protection that was missing most of the season. After being sacked 12 times in the first two games, Wilson was 16 out of 26 for 192 yards and was sacked twice by the Dallas defense, second in the league. Despite the absence of starting center Justin Britt, the offensive line gave Wilson enough time for some big games in the passing game.
Wilson's 16-yard offense against Brown gave Seattle a 7-0 lead and he took advantage of lack of security Jeff Heath when he found Lockett on a 52-yard distance in the second quarter. Heath left with a left ankle injury earlier in the race and Wilson found Lockett moving up the sideline. Heath's replacement, Kavon Frazier, was late for a rotation and Lockett was not touched.
The Carson TD race was the first of a Seahawks that has made a comeback since JD McKissic found the end zone in a 31-yard run in the fourth week of the 2017 season. 39, there is a running back in search of the goal zone until Carson makes his way to 12:54.
Carson finished with 102 yards, the first to return to the top 100 since the end of the 2016 season.
THOMAS DRAMA
After a week of drama around Thomas, the old All-Pro security program began and almost immediately made his presence known. Thomas missed two days of training for personal reasons. Coach Pete Carroll provided only vague answers as to why he was leaving and left open the possibility of Thomas not playing.
He was on the field as usual and it took less than a quarter before Thomas made a remarkable interception, placing a deflected pass against his shin.
FREE POINTS
Seattle received three points late in the half when Randy Gregory was penalized for 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct, hitting Seattle's Joey Hunt in the facemask. The penalty put Seattle tied for Sebastien Janikowski's 47-yard field goal and a 17-3 half-time lead.
INJURY
Dallas also played much of the second period without linebacker Sean Lee because of a thigh injury. Lee was considered dubious for this problem.
