Damon Wayans says he has left Fox's lethal weapon.
In an interview with the Eurweb.com website, Wayans announced its intention to leave the drama produced by Warner Bros. Television after completing the production of the 13 episodes commissioned by Fox for the third season.
"I'm going to leave the show in December after finishing first 13," Wayans said in a video interview. "So I really do not know what they expect, but that's what I expect. I am a 58 year old diabetic and work 16 hours a day. "
Questioned out of the camera asked him, "So, are you done?" Answered Wayans referring to his character from the series. "I'm done. As Murtaugh has said, I am too old for that. "Questioned when he was joking, Wayans shook his head and said" No. "As for what he will do, he says," I'm going back on the stage. and try to find my smile again. "
Representatives of Wayans, Warner Bros. Television and Fox Broadcasting declined to comment.
Fox renewed "Lethal Weapon" in May after Warner Bros. removed Clayne Crawford from the series, replacing him with Sean William Scott. The firing and subsequent renewal follows a series of filming clashes involving Crawford and Wayans – captured in an exclusive video released by Variety in June as part of a survey of the chaotic conditions of production.
As Variety reported at the time, the tension between Crawford and Wayans reached a breaking point last October, when Wayans was injured during the production of an episode led by Crawford. After Crawford pulled out of the series in May, Wayans consulted Twitter to post pictures of the head injury he suffered in October while filming a waterfall and slamming Crawford, posting pictures of leaflets that he claimed to have found on the lot of Warner Bros. decrying his co-star as "an emotional terrorist."
The third season of "Lethal Weapon" was premiered on September 25th on Fox. The show is based on feature films starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, a pair mimicking Los Angeles police detectives.
