On Friday morning, UFC Women's Flyweight Champion, Nicco Montano, was sent to the hospital with health problems and removed from her fight for the main title of the test against Valentina Shevchenko .

There was no substitute fighter for Shevchenko, who was gaining weight, so the fight was canceled. Subsequently, white announced that he had stripped Montano of the title.

Montano has battled injuries since she won the title in December 2017 in the final of The Ultimate Fighter. Obviously, his inactivity has delayed the progress of the division.

Because she was probably the least respected and least known champion of the division, the decision to strip her was probably easy to take for White and the UFC. According to White, Shevchenko will face another opponent for the now vacant title.

No dates have been given for this fight, but there are some openings on upcoming events. UFC 229, which is mainly contested by Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, has only 12 fights. The UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden does not have a major event, but will feature the return of Nate Diaz. Either or both of these cards would make sense, but the UFC 230 seems to be a better fit.

There is currently no title fight on this card, Shevchenko against an opponent of TBA would be the first.

Stay tuned for more information on Shevchenko's opponent and the UFC 228 tomorrow when it will be held at American Airlines Arena in Dallas.
