Tinashe's time Dance with the stars has ended.
When the reality show series came back for its fourth week of competition on Monday night, celebrity duos and professional dancers were paired with a celebrity or DWTS alum for their Trio Night number.
Tinashe, 25, and his professional partner Brandon Armstrong have been associated with DWTS Amy Purdy aly for the fourth week, when they performed a tango and got a 26/30 judges.
Despite their solid score, it was not enough to keep the singer in the competition.
At the end of the episode, Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, co-hosts, announced that two couples in season 27 were threatened: Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe, as well as Tinashe and Armstrong.
"Evanna and Keo, Tinashe and Brandon, in this fourth week of competition, the starting couple is: Tinashe and Brandon," said Bergeron, who was greeted by scandals and surprised exclamations from the public.
"Brandon, you said it in the package," Bergeron said. "Sometimes the best dancers go."
Armstrong said that "everything must be a package" to progress from week to week.
Last week, both got their best score of the season (27/30), but were threatened. "I never want to be in this position again," Tinashe said in his Monday's rehearsal video package.
When Armstrong asked Tinashe, during practice, how she felt in danger, she admitted, "It's like mixed feelings, all right, because we're getting our best score so far."
Armstrong reminded him, "Often the best dancers are the ones who go home as soon as possible."
"The best scores will not keep us in this competition," she said. "I really hope we can show people another side of us this week."
Although the duo was eliminated, Armstrong congratulated his partner before moving down the podium: "I am very proud of Tinashe. She has been amazing this season.
"Brandon has done wonders," added the singer, who highlighted his first season DWTS pro. "Thanks guys!"
Dance with the stars broadcasts Mondays (8 pm ET) on ABC.
