Davia Bunch of Spartanburg wins Miss South Carolina 2018

Davia Bunch of Spartanburg was crowned Miss South Carolina on Saturday in the final of the competition that took place at the historic Township Auditorium of Columbia.

Becoming Miss South Carolina was emotional on many levels for the Bunch, a ballerina . She lost her mother to leukemia in January 2013, when she was only 15 years old.

"It was an eight-year battle, with which I grew up," she said. "But now I can defend people with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers, it's something that touches my heart and forces me to fight every day."
