David Lynch to Trump: "You cause suffering and division"

David Lynch responded to his previous comments in an interview with The Guardian in which he said that "Trump could become one of the greatest presidents in history." Donald Trump had tweeted a link to a Breitbart of Lynch's remarks, and congratulated them at a Monday night rally.

Lynch wrote that the quote was "taken a little out of context and needed explanations." The long and extensive interview, coinciding with the release of her new bio-memoir "Room to Dream", touched on many topics the paternity of no longer making feature films. But it was his remarks on Trump that caught the attention of Lynch fans, who had equated his counterculture icon status with that of someone whose politics would be progressive.

Lynch posted the following on her Facebook page on Tuesday:

Dear Mr. President,

That's David Lynch who writes. I've seen that you've re-tweeted the Breitbart article with the title – Director David Lynch: Trump's could go down as one of the biggest presidents of the year. history & # 39. I wish you and I could sit down and have a conversation. This quote that traveled was a little out of context and needed explanations.

Unfortunately, if you continue as you have been, you will not have the opportunity to go into history as a great president. It would be very sad, it seems for you – and for the country. You cause suffering and division.

It is not too late to return the boat. Point our ship towards a bright future for all. You can unite the country. Your soul is going to sing. Under great loving leadership, no one loses – everyone wins. It's something that I hope you think and take to heart. All you need to do is treat everyone as you want to be treated.

Regards,

David Lynch

The director of "Twin Peaks" and "Blue Velvet" had also stated in the interview that he had supported Bernie Sanders but that he had perhaps voted for a libertarian candidate. He is more committed to promoting the benefits of meditation than to getting involved in politics.
