Wesley Dugger scored three of 13 touchdowns, helping the Wildcats defeat Guilford Division III 91-61 on Thursday night in a two-day match due to the threat of Hurricane Florence.
Davidson (3-0) set program records in the first half with 57 points and 524 yards and added two more in the second half for total points and yards (964). Eli Turner Jr.'s first career touchdown broke the Wildcats record for scoring points in a game with eight mid-quarterbacks.
Davidson was beaten 6-0 before scoring 36 unanswered points. Will Wicks started with a 60-yard run and added a 23-yard with one shoe. James Story scored from 40 yards and Dugger added a point in the midfield to bring the score to 30-6 in the first quarter.
Davidson scored his next two touchdowns in the air – on Hunter Louthan's 84-yard, 76-meter Wicks. Tyler Phelps added a touchdown of the 62-yard run and Dugger scored 24 yards.
The Wildcats have nine touchdowns of 40 yards or more. Alex Manley led Guilford with 364 passing yards and three touchdowns.
