Michigan earned a huge success in its 2019 rookie class on Tuesday, when Daxton Hill, an ESPN 300 athlete, announced his commitment to the Wolverines.
Hill is the best overall prospect in the category and is the highest ranked entry for Michigan since 2016 when Rashan Gary, ranked first overall, signed with the Wolverines.

Hill, a 6-foot-1, 187-pounder from Booker T. Washington High in Tulsa, Oklahoma, chose Michigan over Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, among others. Michigan and Alabama. Hill made official visits to both schools and felt he had enough information to make a decision after making an official visit to Michigan for his match against SMU last weekend.
Michigan experienced a resurgence on the recruiting track in 2019 after finishing in 2018 at 20th place. The Wolverines ranked eighth before Hill's commitment and already have more ESPN 300 commitments in the 2019 category than throughout 2018.
Hill awards ESPN 300 10 commitments to Michigan, including three in the top 50 of the player rankings. Hill is joined by defensive strikers Mazi Smith, ranked 27th, and Christopher Hinton, ranked 41st, among the top three in the category.
