De Blasio rejects homeless activist who interrupts his training

The mayor of Blasio abruptly ended his daily exercise session at Park Slope Y when he was confronted by a homeless activist, reprimanding him: "I am doing my training" , according to a video posted online Friday.

The video shows Hizzoner performing an intense butterfly stretch when the woman approached Thursday to ask for more housing for the homeless.

"I am doing my training, I can not do it now," said the mayor.

With her safety details blocking the woman, de Blasio stood up quickly and flew at full speed.

"He explained that his morning training was more important to him," said Nathylin Flowers Adesegun at Patch NYC. "Am I just supposed to be homeless?"

Adesegun was part of a group of activists from VOCAL-NY who went to the Y to call for more affordable housing for the homeless.

Specifically, they asked the mayor to provide at least 30,000 additional units.

"Why not hire more housing for homeless New Yorkers, the mayor of Blasio?" Asked a lawyer in front of the gym. "Five percent is not enough!"

"The Mayor of Blasio would like to work, but his housing project for homeless New Yorkers is simply weak," said Giselle Routhier, Director of Policy for the Homelessness Coalition.

"This is simply unacceptable and perpetuates the" tale of two cities "that he vowed to repair."

It was not difficult for the lawyers to find the mayor – he trains almost every morning after being chased out of Gracie Mansion.

E-mails issued under a court order show that the assistants usually block three hours most mornings to allow the mayor to be transported to the gym, do his exercises and be taken to the town hall or his next Appointment.
