The death of a Maine teacher, who went missing Monday, was described as suicide, according to local authorities.
A body found Friday morning in a wooded area about 500 feet from Gray Road in North Yarmouth, Maine, was identified as Kristin Westra, 47, last seen by her husband, Jay Westra, on Sunday. evening.

The Cumberland County Medical Examiner said the death of Kristin Westra was a suicide, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Sunday. His cause of death has not been released.
Jay Westra reported that his wife was missing Monday morning after waking up and finding out that she was not home, said Tuesday Captain Scott Stewart, Cumberland County Sheriff, at ABC News. He saw her for the last time before going to bed that night, after returning home from a jog, Stewart said.
Eric Rohrbach, Kristin Westra's brother, told ABC News that she was having trouble falling asleep Sunday night and that her husband thought she was going to try to sleep in an empty room when she would get up around 3am.

When Jay Westra woke up, he "realized that she was not there," Rohrbach said.
Rohrbach said that his sister had suffered "some stress" due to work and home renovations, but described her disappearance as "very abnormal" and that she was not using drugs or drinking alcohol. ;alcohol.
"The idea that she is doing this to her family is completely out of the ordinary," Rohrbach said.

When Jay Westra attempted to call his cell phone Monday morning, he rang inside the house, Rohrbach said. She had no key or portfolio, he said.
Kristina Westra was a primary school teacher and mother of a 9-year-old girl and a 16-year-old son-in-law, Rohrbach said, calling her a "pillar in her community."
Dozens of volunteers looked for Kristin Westra earlier this week. Captain Craig Smith, Cumberland County Sheriff, did not reveal who found the remains or in what state they were found.
