The death of two Thai students, whose bodies were found in an apartment on Tuesday, has been described as murder-suicide, the Seattle Times reported on Thursday.

Kornkamol Leenavarat, 25, and her 32-year-old friend Thiti-orn Chotchuangsap, were found dead in an apartment in Seattle's university district after police responded to a call from a building official at around 9:30 am.

Property managers had checked their well-being and had "found a woman seriously injured inside," a police statement said.

When the police arrived, the two women were dead.

The young woman died from several stab wounds and her death was declared homicide, the King County Medical Examiner's office in Seattle announced Thursday. The Bangkok media reported that she recently went to the United States to attend the University of Washington.

The medical examiner stated that the elderly woman died of a chest injury and that her death was declared suicidal. The two women died Saturday.

Seattle police said there were no suspects pending in the investigation.
