Volusia MPs arrested a 15-year-old boy last Saturday after discovering that his mother was buried under a home in a nearby church, according to a spokeswoman.

According to MPs, Gregory Logan Ramos admitted to strangling his mother, Gail Cleavenger, at home in the 30th block of Alicante on Thursday, according to Sheriff spokesman Andrew Gant.

After taking the woman's body in a wheelbarrow towards River City Church, in the 200 block of E. Highbanks Boulevard, and having it buried, MPs stated that the teenager and her two friends had moved his home so that he looks like a burglar.

Ramos first told the deputies that he was coming home from school and that his mother was missing and that his car was still rolling. The electronics and rifle have disappeared from home, Gant said in an email.

The deputies found the 46-year-old woman in the church and the stolen belongings were buried in another place, they said. MPs also found a shovel and broom "used to bury Cleavenger and straighten the scene around the hearth," Gant said.

The two friends of Ramos, both 17 years old, are also facing charges for their role in the incident.
