During an interview on Thursday night Watch what's going on live with Andy Cohen, Debra Messing responded to a viewer who called and asked, "With whom would you prefer to be stuck in an elevator? Trump or Susan Sarandon?

"I think Trump," Messing said with a grimace.
Facilitator Andy Cohen looked surprised and replied, "Wow, I thought you were going away in the other direction!
He added, "But you know what, maybe you could make some policy changes. You are a very convincing person. "

Messing and Sarandon made headlines in the months leading up to the 2016 elections and rekindled their inaction in early September when Messing tweeted in Sarandon "STFU SUSAN".
At the time, Sarandon, 72, had told Variety she believed that Trump's presidency had inspired more women to run for office. (Sarandon later tweeted, his quotes were taken from their context.)
Despite the inaccuracy of Sarandon's quote, Messing tweeted, "Oh yes, PLEASE, give CREDIT to Trump. I mean, how can you go out differently on the street? Do you convince this DISASTER of a president that you have described as better than [Hillary Clinton] Do not take children away from parents who are seeking asylum. "
Sarandon responded by writing, "Debs, before you become too pious, try clicking on the video and listening to what I am saying in reality, and not @ the title of" Variety's clickbait ".
The women continued to slip on each other through retweets. Messing retweeted a tweet that said: "[Sarandon] seems perfectly happy about the suffering of others. Children in cages.
Messing also retweeted another answer saying that Hillary Clinton deserves praise for inspiring more women to run, not Trump.
"Every time Hillary Clinton ran, she inspired more women to run. Whenever Hillary Clinton fought for civil rights, she inspired more PoC to run. Congratulating a man on a woman's achievements is one of the fundamental principles of patriarchy, tasteless, waffle, "the retweet reads.

Sarandon continued to stand up for his comments to Variety"I understand why @ Variety's clickbait title would be overwhelming, but once you've watched the video, you'll see it's not what I said. Now that you're upset, use this energy to call Collins, Murkowski and Dem Demon's Senators still on the fence and tell them about #StopKavanaugh, "referring to the confirmation hearings underway before the new Supreme Court Judge.
the Thelma and Louise The star has been criticizing the Democratic party for years, while Messing defended Clinton throughout his campaign.
