Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury heavyweight championship clash scheduled for December

Before the end of the year, two of the best heavyweights in boxing will face each other. First boxing champion announced Friday night that WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will meet lineage champion Tyson Fury on Dec. 1. the event is Staples Center in Los Angeles and Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

The announcement was accompanied by a video of Wilder confirming that he put a paper on the contract and that the agreement is reached.

"It will be an exciting fight," Wilder told Yahoo Sports. "It will be an explosive fight, it will be a fight for the legacy.It will be a pleasure, the two best heavyweights will face it.I just beat, in my opinion, one of the best heavyweights of Luis Ortiz, and now I'm going for the next best in the heavyweight division. "

The most interesting regarding the timing of this announcement on Friday, is that heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO defend these titles against Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium in London. If Joshua remains undefeated while retaining these championships, all signs would indicate one of the most lucrative unification fights in 2019 with the winner of the December 1st fight.

Wilder (40-0, 39 KO) recently defended his WBC title in March, winning the 10th round of TKO against Luis Ortiz. Fury (27-0, 19 KOs) made his return to the ring this year nearly three years after having surprised Wladimir Klitschko to win the Joshua titles. The last straight-line champion played his last match in the ring last August, winning a decision over Francesco Pianeta.

In a statement, the first boxing champions promised to disclose more details about this December heavyweight championship showdown next week.
