LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The health department of Laredo urges people not to eat romaine lettuce for fear of the outbreak of E. Coli.
The FDA official announced that lettuce was probably from California because of its growing and harvesting habits.
He added that officials are working to supply the lettuce market, which will soon be harvested in different regions.
So far, no cases have been reported in Texas or in surrounding states.
In Laredo, the Ministry of Health has checked with all retailers and informed restaurants to remove all romaine lettuce.
People are asked to get rid of their romaine lettuce and clean the place where it was stored.
