Deshaun Watson gets on a bus to face Jaguars with injuries

The Houston Texans continue to show that they have little regard for the health of quarterback Deshaun Watson, but it was questionable even by their standards. According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, Watson's injuries to his ribs and lungs are serious enough that flying from Houston to Jacksonville was a bad idea. They put him on a bus instead.

But facing the Jaguars defense was less risky, for whatever reason. Fortunately for Watson, the Jaguars defense has not had a better day.

Watson spent 12 hours on a bus from Houston to Jacksonville. It has apparently benefited at least.

"It was smooth," Watson said after the match. "We just a little dragged. I was cool with that. No matter what it took for me to be here with my teammates and do what I do.

Watson, 23, should be the cornerstone on which Texans must build for at least a decade, but they seemed determined to make the most of his football before he turned 25.

Things could have been worse for him in their 20-7 win over the Jaguars. A defense known to have tormented the quarters has managed to dismiss him only once. Watson thew for 139 yards and a touchdown.

In the first six weeks of the 2018 season, Watson was sacked 25 times and hit 70 times. No other team has allowed 50 hits.

Part of the punishment absorbed by Watson is his fault, but Bill O'Brien and the offensive line of the Texans deserve the lion's share of the fault. After the match, O'Brien swept the questions about Watson's health.

Trotting the quarterback to face the Jaguars' defense could have been a recipe for disaster, but it seems that Watson came out of Jacksonville without any other damage. He was sacked once and the Jaguars totaled five hits in quarter in the win of 20-7 Texans.
