The Houston Texans won a 19-16 home victory in overtime on Sunday at NRG Stadium.

Ka'im Fairbairn scored 36 goals to give the Texans victory. DeAndre Hopkins set the winning score with a 49-yard reception in which he wove the Cowboys defense and got the ball up to the 27-yard Dallas line.

The series of 300-yard passes by Deshaun Watson was reduced to four after 375 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the air.

The Texans defense began the fifth week after allowing 288 passing yards per game. 27th. Houston High School has managed to master Dak Prescott. The Cowboys quarterback was 18-over-29 for 208 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Deshaun Watson must adopt an aggressive racing style

Watson has participated in seven games as a rookie before a ripped ACL does not finish his season. Given this injury, one would expect him to be more careful when he spills the ball and rises.

The opposite was true Sunday night, while Watson was exposed to many successes by deciding not to slip or leave the field before the arrival of the contact.

the Robert Griffin III the comparison was particularly appropriate. Griffin was a revelation as a rookie in 2012, but his knee injury in the 2013 playoffs was quite predictable given his willingness to host the punishment. The former winner of the Heisman Trophy has never been the same quarterback after this injury.

Fortunately for Watson, his ACL injury does not mean losing the athleticism that makes him a dynamic quarterback.

Now he must understand that he is the cornerstone of the franchise. The long-term risks far outweigh the short-term benefits that Watson and his team get when it bets to fight for extra points.

Texans and Watson have to work to find a balance between maintaining its threat of confusion and limiting the number of unnecessary contacts.

Jaylon Smith, Cowboys Defense becomes the greatest force of the team

The story remains largely the same with the Cowboys offensive. Dallas totaled 292 yards and averaged 4.9 yards per game.

Outside of his incredible scramble and his 44-yard pass to Tavon Austin in the fourth quarter, Prescott did not have much impact Sunday night.

Without Dallas' defense, the Cowboys would probably not have been in the fourth quarter match. Time and time again, their defense has intensified during the greatest moments.

Nobody played a bigger role than linebacker Jaylon Smith, who had 12 tackles, including three for defeat.

Smith suffered a major knee injury In his last college match, Todd Archer of ESPN.com wondered what kind of player he could be for the Cowboys this spring. Although one party does not put Smith in the Pro Bowl, he seems to have found the player that everyone thought could be at Notre Dame.

Until the offensive begins to weigh heavily, Dallas will have to rely heavily on his defense to climb to the top of the NFC East.

The struggles in the red zone continue to hinder the Texans' offensive

At the start of week 5, Texans scored 43.75% of their red-zone disks, which ranks 27th, according to the same source. TeamRankings.com. The problem continued on Sunday.

With 10 minutes and a second in the fourth quarter, the Texans got the ball on the line of 1 Cowboys after a defensive interference in the end zone. Two games in play gave no win and Watson sent an incomplete pass to third.

Houston has settled for a 19-yard placement by Fairbairn to score three points, 16-13. This allowed Brett Maher to tie the game on the next Dallas possession with a 48-yard placement.

Texans just can not leave as many points on the board every week. That's how you end up with an offense that ranks fifth in yards (413.8 per game) but 15th in scoring (24.0 points per game). At the same time, it's hardly surprising that Houston's five games have been decided at seven points or less.

Texans will have trouble qualifying for the playoffs unless they capitalize on their offensive opportunities inside the 20-yard line of the opponent.

And after?

The Texans stay home during the sixth week to play the Buffalo Bills. Houston lost their first game against an AFC East team this season. The Cowboys engage in a tough confrontation with the Jacksonville Jaguars at AT & T Stadium.
