Deshaun Watson, Texans: bursts out for an evening of five touchdowns

Watson completed 16 of 20 passes for a total of 239 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions in the Dolphins Texans win 42-23 on Thursday. He also ran once for 14 yards.

Watson started slowly, then continued to arrive once he turned on, amassing each of his five scores starting in the second quarter. The second-year scorer hit Jordan Thomas for a 13-yard touchdown and a 7-7 tie early in the period, and he rejoined the rookie after a break at halftime. Will Fuller and DeAndre Hopkins (twice) completed Watson's spectacular night, allowing him to score several passes for the first time since Week 4 and matching his game record in this category. While his overall output plummeted after four consecutive 300-yard performances between weeks 2 and 5, Watson remains naturally an elite player in all formats before a showdown against the Broncos in the 9th week.
