Keifer Sutherland can not come down!
Projects with his name, whether or not he's stars, seem to continue to live.
We have seen 24 times more times than we can count as fans ask for his return, and now the man himself gets up after being beaten by ABC with Designated Survivor.
Rumors have been running since its cancellation that Netflix could burst in and save the presidential tragedy, and these are no longer rumors.
Not only has the streamer saved the series, but its survival is accompanied by a fifth showrunner as the series enters its third season.

Under the Dome and ER, Neal Baer will take the helm of Keith Eisner for the next ten-episode season which will be a co-production between Netflix and Entertainment One.
As Season 3 launches in 2019, Netflix has been awarded the broadcast rights to the designated Survivor season 1 and Survivor 2's designated season, resulting in a steady stream of revenue.
With ABC, the first two seasons were available on Hulu.
"In a timely and exciting way, Survivor Design has sped up the pulse of our Netflix members outside of the United States and Canada during its first two seasons," said Bela Bajaria, a Netflix vp content.
"The international audience for the show has sparked our interest in presenting the show to the world as Netflix's original for its third season and we are excited to introduce the first two seasons to our American and Canadian members."
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to play President Kirkman for the third season of Survivor designated with Netflix, eOne and Neal Baer," Sutherland said. "I believe this format will allow us to continue to deepen the stories and issues concerning the US electorate that were not possible before."

As executive producer of the series, Sutherland is very involved in the creative aspects of the series, including the approval of the script and the creator of the series, David Guggenheim.
A designated survivor will see Sutherland's president, Kirkman, explore the current world of campaigning, defamation tactics, debates, campaign financing and false news, according to a report on the deadline.

Designated Survivor is the fifth series to be saved by another network at the beginning of next season, the second by Netflix (Lucifer) and the second series ABC (Last Man Standing).
