Dez Bryant convinced a free agent to sign with cowboys

Dez Bryant is no longer a member of the Dallas Cowboys, but is apparently more than willing to take on a recruiting role for the team. Although Bryant has not yet signed up with a new NFL team, he seems to have played a role in helping the Cowboys bring another of their former players to Brice Butler.

As Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News reported, Butler admitted that Bryant was the first to direct him in the direction of the Cowboys.

Bryant quickly became a supporter of his former remote team, even encouraging his former teammates on social networks. Just recently, during the Cowboys' win over the New York Giants, Bryant reacted strongly to Dak Prescott's game (positively), while showing his love for other players.

The story of Brice Butler with the cowboys

Although it became apparent that the Cowboys needed a playmaker or two players, many remained curious about a possible meeting with Bryant. But for now, the team has chosen to sign Butler, as reported by ESPN.

This will be Butler's second stint with Dallas, who played with them from 2015 to 2017, where he played 36 games and totaled 43 receptions for 793 yards and six touchdowns. He also spent time with the Oakland Raiders and briefly the Arizona Cardinals.

There is no doubt that Butler's big-game potential is something that the Cowboys offensive could currently use. In two of his three seasons with the team, he averaged over 21 yards per reception with 67 yards in 2015. leading with nine receptions for 86 yards.

It is unclear what role Butler will play, but as he is familiar with the offensive and Prescott, he might have a chance to play ground during Week 3.
