"Firefighters and breast cancer awareness are very important to me, close family members have had to deal with the difficulties of the disease," said Rhode. "I think most people know someone who has unfortunately been affected by breast cancer."
At present, 161 shirts have been sold, raising more than $ 1,700. Rhode hopes that local businesses will be present during the last push of the disc. There is no definite goal to achieve – this is the first year of departmental involvement, Rhode said. She
"We hope that companies will be involved in support, and I personally went to distribute flyers to companies just to learn more instead of relying on social media," she said. "We just hope to get as much support as possible!"
