EVALUATION

ORIGIN

On October 4, 2018, an online video footage seemed to indicate a slightly embarrassing moment for President Donald Trump as he boarded Air Force One, traveling between rallies in Minneapolis and Rochester, Minnesota .

"Occupy Democrats", the anti-Trump Facebook page on the left, has released a video clip along with the following message: "Our president's" stable genie "has just entered Air Force One with toilet paper glued to his shoe.

The video sparked amusement and schadenfreude, especially from opponents of the president, as well as requests from readers about its authenticity.

The video is authentic and describes a real incident around 4:51 am local time in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 4, 2018, when President Trump could very briefly be seen with what looked like toilet paper or handkerchief stuck to his left shoe as he was climbing a staircase to board Air Force One.

KSTP-TV, a subsidiary of St. Paul-Minneapolis ABC News, broadcast the President's departure live on Facebook. The live video stream started at 4:46 pm local time, and the newspaper was clearly visible on President Trump's shoe for about 15 seconds, starting at 4:45.

The president stopped at the top of the stairs, greeted his followers one last time, then the paper came off his shoe and stayed on the stairs while Trump boarded the plane. One could see a staff member or secret service agent picking up the newspaper as he entered Air Force One a few seconds later, ending the brief episode:
