CLAIM
Donald Trump once wrote that "only the Obama White House can do it by attacking Bob Woodward".
EVALUATION
ORIGIN
In September 2018, excerpts from a book coming out at the Trump White House by veteran investigative journalist Bob Woodward described the Trump administration as a "depression of executive power," with senior aides cited as calling the liar "and stating that they were hiding policy documents to prevent Trump from signing them.
President Trump quickly took on Twitter to reject the book, Fear: Trump at the White House, as a "discredited" work of "totally [made] stories "that was" full of lies and false sources "that constituted a" con on the public ":
The Woodward book has already been refuted and discredited by General (Secretary of Defense) James Mattis and General (Chief of Staff) John Kelly. Their quotes were frauds, a con on the public. Similarly other stories and quotes. Woodward is an agent of the Dem? Attention to timing?

Is not it unfortunate that someone can write an article or a book, totally invent stories and form an image of a person who is literally the opposite of the fact, and who knows what? get it without retribution or cost. I do not know why Washington politicians do not change the laws on defamation?

The already discredited Woodward book, so many lies and false sources, makes me call Jeff Sessions "mentally retarded" and "an idiotic southerner". I told him NEVER, never used these terms, including Jeff, and be a Southerner thing. He invented that to divide!

Woodward, best known for his work with the Washington Post In discovering elements of the Watergate scandal, he simply stated that he supported his work, which was based on hundreds of hours of interviews with first-hand sources conducted on a deep foundation.
Given President Trump's subsequent efforts to discredit Woodward and his reports, some critics have found a funny irony in the publication of a recorded phone call between Woodward and Trump, a month earlier, in which the president said & quot; Liked to have spoken [for the book] … I think you've always been right.
These critics have found even more ironic a five-year-old Trump tweet that was referring to a February 2013 article in Woodward accusing President Obama of failing to compromise on the federal budget. Woodward's play provoked "a singing match between Woodward and Gene Sperling," Obama's economic adviser, followed by an email in which Sperling said Woodward "would regret claiming this claim".
This political mishap prompted Trump to tweet that "only Obama [White House] can do it by attacking Bob Woodward ":
Only the WH Obama can attack Bob Woodward.

It remains to be seen if these words will remain true or if another presidential administration will actually "pick up on Bob Woodward".
