Shortly before the start of Kim Porter's funeral on Saturday, Sean "Diddy" Combs made an emotional note to his ex-girlfriend.

"Today we rest our ANGEL," he wrote on Twitter next to an image of Porter.

"His spirit always lives with us FOREVER !!! We thank you all for your prayers and your support. You have no idea what this means for us. We thank GOD for you all, "he added.

Diddy, 49, had planned to make a funeral eulogy at the funeral – which was scheduled to begin Saturday at 11 am ET – although he may have been too emotional to talk, reported TMZ.

Before the funeral, a public meeting was held at the Charles E. Huff International Funeral Home.

Shortly before Diddy was seen attending a screening on Friday, the music mogul made a prayer that, he hoped, would be useful to anyone in a dark period.

"This is a prayer I said a year ago. May God help us. Love to all, "he wrote next to the video clip.

During Friday night's visit, Porter's children, Quincy Brown, 27, and Christian Combs, 20, were seen leaving private service, as was Diddy, according to photos obtained by TMZ. Kimora Lee Simmons, Porter's friend, was also present.
