Dino Ewing was a freshman at Yale at the same time as Brett Kavanaugh and described himself as a good friend of Kavanaugh. Ewing is one of many who have signed a statement defending Kavanaugh against recent accusations that Kavanaugh allegedly engaged in sexually inappropriate behavior towards a young woman in Yale.
On Sunday night, the New Yorker published an article telling the story of Debbie Ramirez. Ramirez was also an undergraduate at Yale at the same time as Kavanaugh. She says that during the first year, she was at a party with Kavanaugh and a few others, playing a drinking game. She alleges that when she was drunk and lying on the floor, Kavanaugh opened her pants and exposed herself to her laughing. Dino Ewing and a small group of other Yale students who knew Kavanaugh sent a statement to the New Yorker in which they said they were "confident" that the allegations against Kavanaugh were false. Here is what you need to know about Dino Ewing:
1. Ewing has signed a statement attesting to the good character of Kavanaugh
Ewing was one of six Yale students who signed a statement saying they did not believe Debbie Ramirez's accusations about him. The statement read, in part,
"We were the closest to Brett Kavanaugh in his first year at Yale. He was a roommate to some of us and we spent a lot of time with him, including in the dormitory where this incident would have occurred. Some of us were also friends with Debbie Ramirez during and after her stay at Yale. We can say with confidence that if the incident that Debbie claims to have already taken place, we would have seen or heard of it – and we did not do it. The behavior that she describes would be completely out of character for Brett.
The statement added that although they were friends with Ramirez, she never told them anything about Kavanaugh's behavior. The statement reads,
"In addition, some of us have known Debbie long after Yale and she never described this incident until the appointment of the Brett Supreme Court was underway. The New Yorker editors contacted some of us because we know the truth and told them we have never seen or heard of it. "
2. He was Kavanaugh's teammate on Yale's basketball team
At Yale, Kavanaugh tried unsuccessfully for the college basketball team. He ended up playing for the junior college team – and Dino Ewing too. Ewing told The Associated Press that Kavanaugh was a popular player with a lot of "knowledge and work ethic" and described him as someone other players wanted them to know. side in the pick-up games.

Prior to joining LogicWorks, Ewing spent 17 years as CFO of Reval, a small company where Ewing had to wear many hats and perform different roles. Bloomberg notes that at Reval, Ewing was chief financial officer, treasurer, and secretary. He was responsible for financial management, human resources and administration; He has also managed corporate marketing for Reval.
Prior to Reval, Ewing worked as CFO for HealthFirst.
4. He previously worked for the New York Department of Transportation
In the 1990s, Ewing went to work for the New York City Transportation Department. He spent two years – from 1990 to 1992 – as director of budget and analysis for the department.
It's unclear why Ewing has only spent two years in the business. He went to work for the Transportation Department after three years as a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton.
5. Ewing holds a bachelor's degree from Yale and an MBA from Stanford
Ewing was a student at Yale at the same time as Supreme Court candidate Brett Kavanaugh. The two men were in the same grade class; they also played in the same basketball team.
After graduating from Yale and working for a few years, Ewing went to Stanford and earned an MBA. He has a career in financial management.
