Princess Tiana was the first black Disney Princess created for the movie "The Princess and the Frog" in 2009. She was re-animated for the new movie "Wreck It Ralph 2", in which all the princesses spend the night.
When the trailer was released in May, fans noticed that it was considerably different – its skin was lighter and its corkscrew curls had been tamed by soft waves.
Fans immediately criticized Disney, and the anti-racism charity Color of Change launched a petition to tell Disney to "stop whitewashing" their black characters.
The Princess said, "Princess Tiana is nothing like her original character, she is represented here with Eurocentric features with a slimmer nose, curly hair, and a distinctly brighter complexion than her previous representations.
